Tour program

Heading out from Tbilisi
We meet at 8:00 AM near 300 Aragveli metro station and hit the road.
The highway drive takes about 2.5 hours. After that, the pavement ends and the real fun begins.
Start of the route
We'll register with the border service in Dedoplistskaro since we'll be traveling right along the Azerbaijan border. We might run into border police along the way, and they'll ask for IDs.

*Don't forget to bring your passport
Takhti-Tepha Volcanoes
We're off to the Takhti-Tepha volcanoes. It's a cluster of active mud craters in all shapes and sizes. Some are tiny, others are 4 meters wide. They make a funny sound when they spit mud :)
Chachuna Managed Reserve
The road between the volcanoes cuts through the Chachuna Nature Reserve. People call it the "Georgian Savannah." It's a mix of rare woodlands and massive open spaces where only small, dry shrubs grow. We'll be driving on a road that’s better described as "off-road."
Kilakupra Volcanoes
Next, we head to the unusual Kilakupra volcano. It’s constantly erupting, and the landscape is a wild mix of white deposits, cracks, and mini-craters.
Heading back to Tbilisi
Once we've explored all the volcanoes, we'll head home.
